    Chris DeLouis Class of 2011

    Christopher DeLouis is a graduate of Torrington High School (11' saxophone) and the University of Rhode Island.  He is an avid soloist, chamber musician and educator. With a passion for all styles of music ranging from traditional to contemporary, he has performed with the University of Rhode Island Symphony Orchestra, at North American Saxophone Alliance Regional Conferences and in multiple recitals. He has also commissioned and premiered new works for the instrument in order to broaden the saxophonists available repertoire and techniques. As a chamber musician he has performed at the United States Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium, the Annual New England Saxophone Symposium and with ensembles of all sizes and instrumentation. In hopes to inspire the next generation of saxophonists, he has held private studios in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Ohio and has given clinics and master classes to musicians of all ages. Christopher is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Saxophone Performance at Bowling Green State University where he studies with Distinguished Artist Professor Dr. John Sampen. He holds a Bachelor Degree in both Music Education and Saxophone Performance with Summa Cum Laude honors from the University of Rhode Island where he studied with Dr. Jared Sims.
