The commitment Torrington teachers, students, parents, and community members have made to music education was on display this spring at the All City Elementary Honors Orchestra & Band Concert. Fifth graders from all five of the districts’ elementary schools, along with their middle and high school mentors, came together under the direction of band director Ashlee Casko and orchestra director Tia Ward-de Leon for an evening performance that left parents and community members deeply inspired and impressed.

Kyle Hogan is a graduate of Torrington High School (’11) and the University of Rochester (’15) where he earned dual majors in Philosophy and Economics and dual minors in Music and American Studies. He currently works as a Paralegal Specialist at the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice in Washington D.C., where he has served on successful investigative and litigative case teams

Season Finale, Episode 12: Wayne Splettstoezer

Wayne Splettstoezer is in his 22nd year as Director of Instrumental Music/ Music Technology at Torrington High School. His music technology program has been nationally recognized and featured at All-State conferences in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Texas. Most recently, THS was featured as a Best Practice for Music Education at the 2018 Audio Engineering Society High School Educators Conference.
